Winter is officially vorbei and we’re back for an even bigger, third summer of blissed-out munching on the Spree. From Friday 8th May, Bite Club is delighted to be back on home turf (at the good ship MS Hoppetosse every other week) with ten brand new food stalls, lots of tasty old faves, barrelfuls of craft booze and a BBQ smoke-out to end all smoke-outs.
Indeed: three-time British pitmaster, John Hargate, is going to be schooling one and all with his legendary thick-cut ribs, hot links and beef brisket – exclusively at Bite Club this year. Things are gonna get sticky.
Our custom-made Singleton Whisky Bar makes a reappearance, as do the liquor-laced Pampero rum snowcones, joined newly this time around by a select group of biodynamic wines and a flavoursome bundle of craft beers from Berlin’s finest micro-breweries. Here’s to summer 2015!
Just a few of the BRAND NEW FOOD STALLS to be found over the Summer:
★ BBQ Shack: A BBQ pitmaster champion comes to Berlin for the first time with his Texan-style burnt ends, devilishly-spiced crispy wings, crunchy homemade slaw and more.
★ Chutnify: Authentic south Indian dosas made out of rice and lentils that are served with spicy strips of marinated pork and potato masala, or squeaky paneer cheese and marinated bell peppers.
★ ChungKing Noodle: A ludicrously rich pork bone broth – called Xiao Mian – is served with chewy hand-pulled noodles and layered with fermented tofu, szechuan pepper and a minced meat sauce.
★ La Cuina: Gooey seafood paella where the plump bomba rice is slow-cooked in a rich fish stock with all manner of Mediterranean shrimps, mussels and squid.
★ The Future Breakfast: Taking brunch favourites to a whole new level, Future Breakfast serves a hugely popular oyster mushroom burrito as well as an organic eggs benedict and smoked salmon bap.
★ Tausendseund Cakes: Organic, homemade cakes that are prepared fresh on the day by an expert cake maker – expect spellbinding combinations such as a luscious raw vegan take on raspberry cheesecake.
★ Jerk My Day: Extraordinarily spicy yet undeniably sweet, this Jamaican jerk chicken is slow smoked over allspice wood and served with coconut rice, mixed beans and a beef-marsala gravy.
★ Levantine: Channelling the rich, diverse flavours of the eastern Mediterranean, their signature Levlamm – spiced lamb and beef belly served in a warm pita with herbs and tahini – is a knockout.
